How to make Spock ears in your microwave

Thanks to the recent Star Trek reboot and the outpouring of love for the dearly departed Leonard Nimoy, the Planet Vulcan may be trendier than ever. 

But as every cosplayer knows, to complete that stoic alien look, you’ll need a special set of prosthetics: those famously large and pointy ears. 

Luckily for you, The gurus at Tested, Mythbuster Adam Savage‘s platform for geek DIY culture, are here to show us why getting Spock ears is easier than ever.

It turns out in order to get Vulcan-ified, all you need is some foam core mold, some gelatin, and a microwave. Voila!

OK, it’s not quite that simple, but still, this is as easy as special effects get.

Now they just have to explain to us how Pon Farr works.
