A video showing a McDonald's worker with floor-length purple and pink braids has drawn attention on X over concerns about kitchen safety.
The original video appears to have been removed from its source before publication. @HistorianUSA1 shared a copy of it before it was removed from its source.
The video had drawn nearly 40,000 views as of publication. From the footage shared by the X account, the woman’s braids appeared to extend a little over her knees.
Y’all… this McDonald’s worker has the LONGEST pink and purple braids I’ve ever seen in my life ?

They’re hanging all the way down past her hips while she’s working right by the fries and food warmer.
You ever wonder why you find hair in your fast food? This is why. And if… pic.twitter.com/ULKuOT1GVi
The bystander filmed her completing an order and working while her hair swayed. The McDonald’s worker grabbed a brown paper bag and proceeded to pack an order.
In the caption, the X account claimed her braids were the “longest” they’ve seen. But that’s not all they addressed. The account also highlighted the woman’s proximity to the oil fryer and food warmer with her hair exposed, risking a serious injury like burns.
With that being said, the account prompted their followers to think if they had ever gotten pink or purple hair in their McDonald’s order. And if they did, they alleged it was from this particular location the worker was filmed at.
The McDonald’s Worker Sparks Backlash on X
The account did not identify the McDonald's location where the video was filmed. However, it did generate plenty of traction, sparking conversations about food hygiene and safety in a kitchen.
In the comments, users argued that super-long braids like hers posed a risk of accidentally catching on fire or getting entangled in equipment. A user attached a GIF and noted, “This is not going to end well.”
@HistorianUSA1 responded, agreeing, “Not at all. It’s a health and fire hazard.” Another predicted, “One day, she’s going to turn the wrong way, and her hair is going straight into the fryer.”

Others pointed out a requirement of hairnets to prevent hair from falling into food, causing contamination. They said, “What happened to hairnets?! This is so not right. I would fire her quick!”
Several commenters said they would have contacted the health department. Others shared GIFs and AI-generated images in response to the video.
Many urged that it shouldn’t be allowed. McDonald's has not publicly addressed the video.
