George Michael dying at the age of 53 on Sunday was a shock to most of his fans on Christmas day, and a mourning internet immediately responded with tears and tribute videos to some of his best work.

He was one of the biggest solo artists of his time (he sold more than 100 million records), he was a proud member (and champion) of the LGBT community, and he was an artist whose greatest moments will stand the test of time.

But he also participated in some really cool moments, and a few of them were captured on video and then watched repeatedly in the hours after the news of his reported death from heart failure circulated across the world.
