A video appearing to show a group leaving a restaurant without paying has sparked discussion online, particularly after one person appears to be left behind. In the video, a group of people can be seen leaving the restaurant before running once they reach the front doors.

Once they reach the front doors, the group begins running toward separate cars. One man, however, is left behind and appears unable to keep up. The camera turns to a man on crutches, who appears confused and asks what is happening.

The person recording appeared to be someone who worked at the restaurant. They tell the man with the crutches that somebody has to take care of the bill, "and you're the only one here."

Others from the group can be heard shouting in the background, but the man with crutches is still there as the employee tells him that he needs to pay their tab or else the police will get involved.

"I'll wash the dishes," the man suggests.

"The police will be here soon," says the man behind the camera.

Commenters Question Whether the Video Was Staged

The video's authenticity was questioned by several commenters, who suggested the incident was staged.

"Fake s*** is getting old! The need for ragebait, clickbait is getting ridiculous! Sadly more people will believe this is real because of history than will believe it was staged!" one user complained.

"It's a fake up stunt there's no one in the restaurant there's no employees it's absolutely empty this was just to pretend dine and dash," said one X commenter.

Other commenters suggested ways restaurants could prevent dine-and-dash incidents.

"Take a credit card when a large party sits down before they even get a glass of water," wrote one commenter.

"If I go to a bar where they don’t know me, they will always ask for a credit card so we can run a tab. The same thing should happen at restaurants. I wouldn’t be offended in the least," said another X user.

Regardless of whether the video was staged, it prompted discussion about dine-and-dash incidents and restaurant payment policies. In the case of this video, the profile on X that it was posted on, and many of the comments, are racially motivated and will not be repeated here.

The video appears to have been staged, according to multiple commenters who questioned its authenticity.
