Children Watch as Multiple Women Fight Inside North Carolina Shoe Store—‘THIS Is What Bothers Me the Most’

A video that was captured by a passerby and re-shared by X user @mattvanswol shows the moment a fight broke out in the middle of a shoe store involving multiple women. The altercation initially appeared to involve two women, though others later stepped in to either separate them or join the fight.

The video appeared to show five women involved in the fight at a shopping mall in North Carolina. Shoes were thrown from racks as the fight moved through the store before staff members and a manager intervened. A young girl, who may have been with one of the women, could be seen watching the altercation.

At the beginning of the video, shouting and commotion can be heard inside the shoe store as the person recording moves closer to the scene. Two of the women, both wearing black, were seen swinging wildly as they attacked each other.

Meanwhile, two other women appeared to try to separate the pair. One wore a yellow shirt and purple bonnet, while the other wore a white shirt and black shorts. The video appears to show her using a cellphone while attempting to separate the group. The situation remained chaotic as the fight continued.

The altercation also caused damage to merchandise and store displays. Shoes fell off shelves, shoe stands came loose and dropped to the floor, and a wig appeared to be pulled off during the altercation.

The Fight Continued Despite Attempts to Separate Those Involved

The woman in the white shirt on her phone who was attempting to separate the fight was attacked by one of the aggressors, and appeared to join the fight after being struck. Meanwhile, the woman in the yellow shirt and purple bonnet appeared to restrain the woman in white.

Despite her attempts, the altercation continued. There was hair grabbing, punches being thrown, and property being damaged all at once. As the altercation continued, the scream of a child was heard, and a little girl wearing a yellow shirt could be seen jumping nearby as the fight continued.

One individual on X said, "THIS is what bothers me the most, they fight like this with a child, and scare them to death, then when the baby girl sees the managers coming she jumps like she thinks she is about to be in trouble."

The video then shows two women, who appeared to be store employees, approaching the altercation. But even then, the fight continued. Another X commenter wrote, "You cannot go anywhere without seeing it. Shopping centers, playgrounds, neighborhoods, graduations and funerals. Everywhere."

Other commenters pushed back against attempts to associate the behavior with a particular racial group, calling the criticism “selective outrage.” The comment reads, "You ever see all those videos with these white men and women having road rage jumping out of their cars with guns and wanting to beat people up? You're not making a point. You're not making an argument that this is black people acting like black people. It's selective outrage."
