Newly released, faster version of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ will blow you away

Queen’s “We Will Rock You” is one of the most instantly-identifiable stadium anthems of all time.

But the iconic U.K. band also recorded a rapid-fire version in 1977 for DJ John Peel that wholly abandons the track’s two-stomp-clap beat. It’s a clear counter to the emergence of punk, and it’ll blow your hair back.

While the fast version was a live staple for years, it was never officially released. It’s finally coming out Nov. 4 as a part of a 24-song set, Queen on Air, that pulls together the band’s various BBC sessions. the six-disc deluxe edition will also feature interviews, like this 1982 conversation between guitarist Brian May and John Tobler.
