This one perfect tweet shows you what Congress would look like if it were emoji

After last week's midterm elections, there will be a more diverse pool of lawmakers in Congress.

The election led to the Democrats taking control of the House of Representatives, and a number of "firsts," such as the country's first openly bisexual member of Congress and Massachusetts electing its first Black woman to the country's legislative branch.

In fact, the 2018 midterm elections were record-breaking for women, with more non-incumbent women elected to the House than in any previous election.

As one emoji-filled meme shows, there is a stark difference in how much more diverse the new crop of Democratic lawmakers are compared to their Republican colleagues.

There were, of course, Twitter-specific versions of the emoji Congress as well.
