The number of Blue Origin space flight memes shot into the stratosphere after the all-female launch returned safely to Earth today. The star-studded passenger list included singer Katy Perry and television personality Gayle King, and the attention they drew wasn't entirely positive, but some of it was hilarious.
Social media users joked about Perry's flopped publicity stunt (plus the way she kissed the group upon return), King's look of uncertainty as she posed and boarded the flight, and the short duration of the trip were all a go for jokes and memes.
The 11-minute Blue Origin space flight
The highly publicized flight launched and descended on April 14, 2025, starting in Van Horn, Texas. The crew—which included Katy Perry, Gayle King, Jeff Bezos's fiancée Lauren Sánchez, former NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn—spent only a few minutes in suborbital space before touching down.
All in all, the event lasted about 11 minutes total, which was funny enough in itself. One X user joked that the flight was "shorter than Selena Gomez Social media breaks."

Is Gayle King okay?
Two images of King became targets for Blue Origin memes, including the promotional photo of all the women posing together. While everyone else has on their best smiles or looks of fierce confidence, King looks a little unsure of her decision to get blasted into space at Mach 3.
