High school football star Yuri Wright, ranked by Rivals.com as the third best player in New Jersey and one of the top cornerback prospects in the nation, was expelled Wednesday from Don Bosco Prep School for numerous sexually and racially explicit tweets.

“He’s a good kid and I think he has a bright college future and I wish him the best of luck,” his coach Greg Toal told NJ.com. Toal added that he had repeatedly stressed the dangers of social media to his players.

Wright’s Twitter handle, @YuriWright3, has since been deleted.

Chatsports took screengrabs of some of the more offensive tweets, however. A few highlights:

  • “Yo my pops just drove by and splash some jewish lady wth mad water…” (Sept. 6)
  • “Its like I need pussy everyday to be satisfied going to school with a whole bunch of guys sucks” (Nov. 18)
  • “So we learning about the pussy and the teacher tells me when a girls squirts that’s not an organism [sic]” (Dec. 5)

Jason Ramsay, who plays for rival school Clifton and had been the recipient of some ribbing from Wright’s account, tweeted on the day of Wright’s expulsion: “Heard Yuri lost all his scholarships lol.”

Michigan has ceased recruiting Wright, and Notre Dame is likely to quit on him as well. He’s still scheduled to visit Rutgers this weekend, though.

Two new teams have reportedly started recruiting Clifton since his expulsion, so it’s unlikely this will prevent him from playing college football. But it will probably keep him off Twitter.
