In YouTube Right Now, the Daily Dot looks at videos that catch our eyes, push our buttons, and move our dials—and that you’ve just got to watch. Right now!
Around this time last year, millions awwed as a mini Darth Vader tried to use the Force around his home. That Wolkswagen ad might have inspired the below video, as YouTubers Warialasky and Dave Ackerman consider practical uses for telekinesis, George Lucas-style in “Lazy Jedi.”
While the latest Star Wars-inspired trending video might not be quite as adorable as a pint-sized Sith Lord learning to manipulate his surroundings, it’s no less fun.
In a little over two minutes, the video shows how a sloppy Jedi can use the Force to make life simpler: silencing a beeping phone’s morning alarm, enjoying breakfast, and brushing one’s teeth.
Since the video was uploaded last Wednesday, it has garnered 307,313 views as YouTubers contemplate how their lives could be enriched by harnessing the Force.
“What he could have done was staying in his bed and ordering the milk to mix up with cereals and fly to him as he awakes! Could be the same thing for brushing his teeth!” wrote user thegame1001.
ManicRaider disagreed in Yoda-speak: “Using the Force incorrectly this Jedi is. Worthy of the ability he is not.”
It seems the most common effect of the video is to elicit a craving among viewers. As MissCherieB put it: “okay i want cereal now.”
Perhaps the only thing that would be as fun as the Force would be having a Portal Gun.
