In a clash of social networks, YouTube is now pinning.

The popular video-sharing website joined Pinterest Thursday and the world didn’t ignite on fire. On YouTube’s blog page, the site proclaimed that they’ve been “eager to join the party,” ever since Pinterest introduced video pins—10 months ago.

YouTube’s page contains ten boards presenting a variety of topics that glide comfortably into a lot of Pinterest users’ interests. There’s a “Pinspirational” board devoted to motivating videos and a “Make it Yourself” board that’s focused on do-it-yourself video instructions, while “Nom Nom Nom” is focused on recipes, and “Work It Out” is a fitness-centric board.

Not surprisingly, there is a YouTube board devoted to kooky animal videos called “Fins, Fur and Feathers.” There’s also a board called “Eye Candy,” whose theme we’re still trying to figure out, Looks weird, though.

Many of the videos are selected from those splashy content channels that YouTube is betting big on. YouTube has pinned around 200 videos since joining but an obvious glitch indicates that the new account has zero followers.

This is all well and nice, but when is YouTube going to join Gentlemint?
