The controversial 20-year-old rapper died in Florida on Monday after being shot in his car in an apparent robbery.

Now it appears he’s left a legacy beyond his words. Thursday afternoon, the rapper’s mother Cleopatra Barnard offered a piece of good news on Instagram: he was apparently expecting a child with his girlfriend, who remains unnamed.

TMZ reports that the girlfriend is not Geneva Ayala, XXXTentacion’s longtime romantic partner who says she was physically abused by XXXTentacion and has been relentlessly bullied online by fans.

While the music industry is still in shock (and unsure of how to reckon the tragedy with the rapper’s history of gendered and homophobic violence), fans unearthed footage from a recent Instagram Live where XXXTentacion talked about his legacy and shared his thoughts on dying.

“If worst thing comes to worst, and I fucking die a tragic death or some shit and I’m not able to see out my dreams, I at least want to know that the kids perceived my message,” the Florida-born rapper said in the video, the date of which is unclear. “Were able to make something of themselves and able to take my message and use it and turn it into something positive and to at least have a good life.”

“If I’m going to die or ever be a sacrifice,” he continued, “I want to make sure that my life made at least 5 million kids happy or they found some sort of answers or resolve in my life regardless of the negative around my name, regardless of the bad things people say to me.”

There is no word yet as to the baby’s due date.
