We’re getting four special episodes of “Weekend Update” while Saturday Night Live is still on hiatus, which not only gave us SNL’s take on Anthony Scaramucci but what would happen if you gave a Trump a fidget spinner.
The latter comes in the form of Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. (Alex Moffat and Mikey Day, respectively), who appeared on “Weekend Update” to talk about all of the positive things their father has done during the first six months of his presidency. To no surprise, it quickly veers off-track to Russia, which prompts Donald Trump Jr. to distract Eric long enough so he doesn’t incriminate himself more than he already has.
Once it starts spinning, it’s like a lightbulb went off—although he’s still able to get a few other controversial statements across.
While the Trumps haven’t always taken kindly to their SNL portrayals, Trump Jr. liked a video of Moffat’s Eric Trump struggling to spin the fidget spinner.
As for Scaramucci, Bill Hader stepped into his shoes to FaceTime hosts Colin Jost and Michael Ché, who seemed a little too fond of reminding us about some of the more colorful quotes in the infamous New Yorker interview that led to his firing just 10 days into his tenure as communications director.
