Don’t look now but college hoops is back. You know how this works, casual fan: There are high-profile fall tournaments and matchups that spotlight the major players. Then they retreat into conference play for the winter months before ultimately destroying each other come March Madness.
The season begins Tuesday evening with Duke battling Kansas, a blue-blooded duel of iconic programs… that shift personnel year-to-year and feed the NBA. So, uh, who is actually on the team this year? For Kansas, America’s AP preseason No. 2, it’s a big three of NBA-ready sophomore guard Devon Dotson; senior Nigerian big Udoka Azubuike; and Angolan forward Silvio De Sousa, returning to action after being ruled ineligible to play last year by the NCAA.
Dotson will match wits with Duke’s sophomore guard Tre Jones, himself leading a team that includes ESPN’s No. 2-ranked freshman class, including the four of the top-39 freshmen in America, as the Kansas City Star notes: Vernon Carey, Matthew Hurt, Wendell Moore, and Cassius Stanley. The Blue Devils are No. 4 in the AP poll.
Here’s everything you need to live stream the 2019-2020 NCAA season tip-off between the Duke Bluedevils and the Kansas Jayhawks.
