Tens of thousands of Facebook users agree: It would have been really cool if a former U.S. president had slain film’s most popular vampire with an axe.

Coinciding with the release of the movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Facebook users are sharing a photo in which of Twilight’s Edward Cullen is hunted down by the Great Emancipator.

If it strikes you as a familiar gag, you’re right: There’s a very similar, well-established image of Cullen running from geekdom’s real favorite vampire hunter, Blade. That’s one’s well over a year old.

In fact, if you compare the two photos, it’s pretty clear that someone just took the same still of Edward where he’s being hunted by Blade, Photoshopped an angry, axe-wielding Lincoln on the other side, then cropped the photo and converted it to black and white.

Being a repeated joke hasn’t hurt the picture’s popularity, however. More than 26,000 people have clicked Like since it went up Tuesday evening.
