It’s always fun to catch a minor mistake in a film or television show. Usually, it’s a stack of CDs that were teetering in the background suddenly straightened in the next shot, or an actor’s tattered appearance miraculously reverting to their fresh-faced look from a few scenes before. These small editing mistakes tend to be less frequent in animated works, but a Simpsons executive producer just noticed a big one in a classic episode.
Executive producer Matt Selman was perusing the sixth season of the award-winning sitcom when he noticed a glaring oversight. Toward the end of the episode, Homer bursts in the door to spill his guts to a pregnant Marge. But just behind Marge’s towering blue hair is a photo of… Maggie, whom she is currently pregnant with.

Unsurprisingly, the delightful people who work on the show, not to mention the fans, lost it on Twitter.
I hope you’re happy because we just fired SEVENTEEN people for that blunder. Fired. Through. Done.

“I hope you’re happy because we just fired SEVENTEEN people for that blunder. Fired. Through. Done,” veteran writer Al Jean deadpanned on Twitter.
Luckily those 17 people didn’t have to lose their jobs. A helpful tweet graciously provided the real culprit: witches. Obviously.

If someone out there wants to watch the remaining 638 episodes and compile a list of other amusing errors, that would be great. Simpsons staffers would sure appreciate it.
