Robert De Niro is a 73-year-old man. Sure, he’s more famous than just about any other 73-year-old in the country, but he’s a 73-year-old man just the same. Which basically means he can be forgiven for not having a clue about what to do on Snapchat, or for not caring about his lack of social media savvy.
But De Niro can be a good sport, so when De Niro was offered the chance to learn about how to use Snapchat at the Tribeca Film Festival, he graciously accepted the offer.
As E News points out, that’s Alex Berry, a filmmaker who was a finalist in Tribeca Snapchat Shorts. Since the film festival was co-founded by De Niro in 2002 and since Berry is apparently an expert at Snapchat shorts, this pairing makes perfect sense.
So, good for you Bob, stick out your tongue like a dog and throw some flowers on your head. You’ll go down as one of the greatest actors of any era, but congratulations, you’re also now an honorary millennial.
