Lynch is asking people to tweet her (@JaneMarieLynch) their best jokes about Roseanne, some of which might make their way into The Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne. The special airs Sunday, Aug. 12 at 10pm ET.

The annual event is being promoted with the hashtag #RoseanneRoast on air and online. But judging by Topsy analytics, it’s off to a slow start. Fewer than 160 tweets with that hashtag have been tweeted since the start of Lynch’s crowdsourcing announcement on Wednesday.

There were few funny zingers directed at  Roseanne from Twitter user David Arnott.

“Global Warming had been debunked, turns out it’s Roseanne’s Menapausal [sp] Hot Flashes – much more dangerous,” he tweeted.

Arnott also took a shot at Roseanne’s stab at a presidential run: “Roseanne’s run 4 Prez was hampered by her inability to settle on a Vice – Drinking, Over Eating, or Cursing.”

While Arnott has a good chance of one his jokes making the cut, actors and comedians will take to the dais to roast Roseanne. Seth Green, Sons of Anarchy star Katey Segal, Gilbert Gottfried, and Sharon Stone are slated to appear.
