Former President Barack Obama appears to have used at least part of his first year out of office to catch up on some quality reading.
In what’s become an annual tradition, the 44th president shared his list of the books and music that he enjoyed the most in 2017 in a Facebook post, as a way to “reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world.”
And yes, rest assured: Obama still has better taste in music than you. Among his favorite tracks of the year are “First World Problems” by Chance The Rapper, “Family Feud” by Jay-Z (featuring Beyoncé), “Humble” by Kendrick Lamar, “Chanel” by Frank Ocean, and “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness” by the National.
Obama also shared his top 10 books, plus two bonus titles for “hoops fans”: Coach Wooden and Me by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Basketball (and Other Things) by Shea Serrano.

Looks like he made the most of that extra time he had on his hands.
