Here at the Daily Dot, we swap GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you in. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.
Daily Dot favorite Dain Fagerholm is back, with a new trick. As he explained on Google+, “I am experimenting with layering multiple GIF images at varying degrees of opacity can create some beautiful images that are reminiscent of 80’s arcade vector graphics.”
It was created on the art hub NewHive, an online canvas for experimentation.
It’s a powerful improvement on regular GIFs, even stereoscopic ones; it gives an amazing impression of three-dimensional curves, while most 3-D GIFs can give the impression of flat surfaces in front of one another, at best. This one also has an amazing iridescent effect, shown off well by its neon colors on a black background.
