Here at the Daily Dot, we have an unofficial tradition of sharing GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you into the circle. In the Morning GIF, we’ll feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.
If you’ve ever been to a concert in the last 10 years, chances are you’ve stood behind someone holding up their cell phone, desperately trying to snap a blurry photo of their favorite band.
Well, if you were at the MTV Iggy concert on Dec. 12 in Times Square and saw someone holding up a white iPhone, it was probably one of the guys from Mr. Gif, a group of three graphic designers from New York and New Jersey.
During a set from 2NE1, a South Korean pop group, one of the guys from Mr. Gif created this stunning animation (among three others).
“Any time we’re at a concert or we’re just out and about in the city, I don’t even look at it as taking a picture anymore,” said Mr. Gif member Mark Portillo in a Daily Dot interview about three months ago. “It’s sorta like, how can I make a GIF out of this? We’re adding that little bit of adventure to it.”
