King of all trades Donald Glover is taking childish to another level, director Jon Favreau announced on Friday.
In coupled tweets, Favreau shared that Glover has been cast as Simba in Disney‘s remake of the Lion King, with James Earl Jones reprising his role from the 1994 original movie as Mufasa.

Favreau, who directed the live-action film of the Jungle Book, met Glover during an event in December, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Lion King itself won’t be live-action, but Favreau has plans to expand upon his work from the former film.
Glover is already in the process of filming the Star Wars Han Solo spinoff set to premiere in 2018, playing the role of Lando Calrissian. In turn, the role of a lifetime pushed back the premiere of the second season of his comedy series Atlanta. Fans can only hope this new undertaking doesn’t further undercut the series.
