Lawrence police department rips Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks lost to Oregon in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on Saturday, meaning coach Bill Self’s team has now lost five national quarterfinals games during his 13-year tenure, including two in a row when the Jayhawks were a No. 1 seed.

All of which allowed the Lawrence, Kansas Police Department one heck of an opportunity to burn the hell out of the underachieving squad. And the police department’s Twitter account responded by dunking all over the Jayhawks.

The police department even created its own #GrieveSafely hashtag.

Unfortunately for the people of Lawrence, it seems the police are a long way from these kinds of harmonious moment.

Seemingly, the only major issue for the officers was an attempted arboricide that was aborted at the last moment.

This, of course, is the sign of a police department that has its priorities straight – keeping a mourning city safe and in hysterics at the same time.
