The cat’s out of the bag, everyone: Katy Perry and Taylor Swift aren’t on good terms.
After a years-long passive aggressive standoff kickstarted by Swift’s single “Bad Blood,” Perry has finally acknowledged the tension in order to promote her response single, “Swish Swish.” True synergy.
Perry made the reveal on James Corden‘s Late Late Show Monday evening, during the popular Carpool Karaoke segment.
“I want to talk to you about some famous beef,” Corden says. “Because there’s Taylor beef… When are we going to clear that beef up?”
Instead of playing coy like she has in the past, Perry gave a straightforward answer: “Honestly, it’s really like, she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.”
Dang.

Perry confirmed long-reported suspicions that the tension started over access to backup dancers. “I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn’t speak to me,” she said. “And then she writes a song about me! And I’m like, ‘Oh, cool, cool, cool. That’s how you wanna deal with it? Karma.’”
