Queens of the Stone Age are set to release a new album later this summer, and then the hard rock group will embark on a worldwide tour. What better way, then, to get back into the musical groove than by playing a small gig in front of a young crowd?
That apparently is what Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme thought when he decided this past weekend to play a graduation party. A sixth-grade graduation party.
Watch as Homme, guitarist Brody Dalle (who happens to be Homme’s wife), and Garbage drummer/Nirvana producer Butch Vig blast out a cover version of Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.”

According to Consequence of Sound, the party was held in honor of Homme’s and Dalle’s daughter. It’s yet another lesson that it’s good to know people in high places, especially if you want your party to rock as hard as possible.
