The Friends star amassed over 12 million followers in just two days of joining. But before breaking the Guinness World Record for having the fastest account to gain 1 million followers, Aniston made a secret account to see what all the hype was all about.

“It was a stalker account,” Aniston said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night. “When I was thinking about doing this, it was time to start to understand the world and sort of dip my toe into the social media world.”

Undoubtedly, Aniston would thrive on the social media platform with or without some prior Instagram experience. In Aniston’s second post, she joked about how her account broke the internet.

“I swear I didn’t mean to break it… Thank you guys for the kind, glitchy welcome,” Aniston wrote, along with a video of her acting fed up with her new Insta-life.

Her first-ever post was an ode to her beginnings: the very first reunion photo featuring the full cast of Friends. “And now we are Instagram FRIENDS too. Hi Instagram,” Aniston wrote.

Even with some “finsta” experience, Aniston told Kimmel she had not looked much into the platform. Aniston says she is trying to avoid getting sucked into the Instagram-obsessed lifestyle many famous stars tend to live.

“I’m trying to build content as they say,” Aniston told Kimmel.

And it’s the kind of content 12.6 million-plus followers want to see.
