Missy Elliott may have just tweeted her way into a video directing gig.

The hip-hop legend was taking a walk down memory lane on Twitter when her throwbacks caught Janelle Monáe‘s attention. It all started with Elliott reminiscing about a song she wrote for former Spice Girl Mel B. back in 2000. Revisiting the music video apparently got her wheels turning, and she realized that she’d maybe like to try directing sometime in the future.

“Just like artist [sic] trusted me to write songs for them I wonder what artist would take a chance on me directing a video for them,” she pondered.

Less than two hours later, Monáe (who has a new record dropping April 27) slid into Elliott’s mentions to nominate herself.

Elliott initially played it cool, assuming Monáe was joking, but Monáe doubled down and said it’d “be a dream” to work with Elliott—”the master teacher of visuals.”

And just in case anyone was still in doubt that this video would happen, Monáe’s label Wondaland Records weighed in saying it 100 percent knows which new song would be a perfect fit.

Sounds like a done deal for the two Atlanta musicians.
