Fred Durst Limp Bizkit Shaggy 2 Dope drop kick

It appears a member of Insane Clown Posse took Limp Bizkit’s declaration to “Break Stuff” just a little too seriously this weekend.

While performing at a show in New Jersey on Saturday night, Limp Bizkit broke into its rendition of George Michael’s “Faith” when Shaggy 2 Dope—who, along with Violent J, has made ICP a relatively relevant name in music and pro wrestling for the past 25 years—tried drop-kicking singer Fred Durst from behind.

As you can see in this YouTube video via Jim Powers, Shaggy 2 Drop runs up behind Durst and attempts a move directly out of pro wrestling. But he misjudged the distance of his attack, and the blow barely moved or fazed Limp Bizkit’s lead singer.

“What a pussy,” Durst immediately responded. “He couldn’t even pull it off.” While security dragged Shaggy 2 Dope off stage, Durst said, “It’s one guy. Calm down. It’s one guy. Well, it’s two guys.” Durst shrugged at the audience and declared, “Let’s give that guy a hand.” Then, Durst sarcastically clapped his hands together before the crowd chanted, “Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye.”

In case you want to see other angles of Durst getting attacked from behind, the internet is at your service.

It’s unclear if Shaggy 2 Dope was trying to hurt or embarrass Durst, or if he was simply joking around with a fellow 2000s-era relic. Consequence of Sound found a post in the r/hiphopheads subreddit that claimed the beef has been brewing for two decades. According to the redditor, “It all started 20 years ago when ICP was trying their hardest to sell out. They performed at Woodstock and after was told ‘Fred wants to meet with you’ they had no idea who the fuck Fred was. I guess Fred Durst was a mega superstar and egoed out on them hard like wouldn’t look at them or anything while he talked. He invited them on the Family Values tour with Korn and all those bands then at the last minute told them to fuck off outside and booted them.”

Others point to the fact Shaggy 2 Dope has participated in pro wrestling matches and that his kick was meant to be fake.

Or maybe Shaggy 2 Dope did it all for the nookie.
