Gorillaz aren’t stopping at a new album. They’re getting a TV show, too.
In an interview with Q, co-founder Jamie Hewlett revealed that a 10-episode series is forthcoming, after an animated DreamWorks feature reportedly fell through for being “too dark.” It’s not clear if the series is related to Gorillaz’s long-rumored Celebrity Harvest film.
There are no details about where the series will end up, or if it will be interactive, like the video for “Saturnz Barz.”
The new Trump-inspired album, Humanz, is set to debut April 28, with guest appearances from Mavis Staples, Grace Jones, and Carly Simon. According to the Q interview, Morrissey was almost on board.
