It’s a tale as old as time: Couple spices up their sex life with some handcuffs; husband has a heart attack; wife is left handcuffed to a bed in the middle of nowhere. Will she be able to keep it together and escape? Who could say for sure!
In Netflix‘s adaptation of Stephen King‘s 1992 novel Gerald’s Game, Carla Gugino has to fight for her life while strapped to a four-post bed and wearing a satin nightie. If the first official trailer is any indicator, that scenario can be a lot creepier than it might sound:
Throw in some unpleasant childhood flashbacks, and you’ve got yourself a horror movie.
This isn’t the only Stephen King adaptation getting released this Halloween season—It hits theaters Sept. 9.
Gerald’s Game will be streamable on Netflix Sept. 29.
