During a backstage interview after his two-Emmy win for Atlanta Sunday night, Donald Glover said that a mixtape between himself and Chance the Rapper would “probably” happen sometime soon.
The mention came up unprompted. A journalist asked Glover if he was working on any new music, and the multi-hyphenate (who took home awards for both acting and directing) revealed he doesn’t want to do “anything that feels forced.”
“I feel like if I don’t make a Chance the Rapper mixtape, like a double mixtape, a bunch of 14-year-olds will kick my ass,” he joked. “I feel like I’ve gotta do something. I probably will.”
After teaming up on a song in 2014, the pair have hinted at collaborating again—most recently this summer—but a double mixtape sounds like almost too specific an example to be hypothetical.
Chance retweeted a video of Glover’s interview from a Buzzfeed writer, but he didn’t confirm the mixtape.

While all of this definitely suggests a project is in the works, neither side confirmed any more details Sunday evening.
