5 white guys file a ‘reverse discrimination’ lawsuit against Diddy’s Revolt TV

They claim they weren’t black enough or young enough.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Revolt TV was hit with a lawsuit this week, filed by five former employees who allege they were essentially fired for being old white dudes.

According to Page Six, the suit was brought forth by Douglas Goodstein and four unnamed white former employees, all of whom are over the age of 39. The team worked on the televised version of the hit talk radio show The Breakfast Club and claim that bosses treated them “worse than other employees who were younger and African-American” in a suit filed with the Manhattan Supreme Court.

The suit cites several unprofessional actions they say took place during their time at the company, including “guests showing up late, employees showing up intoxicated, and people making comments about how white people were racist against black people.”

Goodstein alleges that he was discriminated against in the workplace on a personal level based on his age and ethnicity. He describes an incident with production manager Cherisse McKenzie where a guest did not appear on time. When he complained to McKenzie about the guest, McKenzie allegedly said that “he just did not understand the ‘culture’ of the show’s guests and on-air personalities.” According to Goodstein, McKenzie “was clearly referring to African-American culture and/or African-American hip-hop culture, which she assumed Baker did not understand because he was Caucasian.”

Revolt TV told the Fader that the claims of discrimination have already been reviewed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and dismissed. “Revolt Media and TV, LLC has always been committed to diversity in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.”

It’s now up to the state of New York to decide whether these guys were wrongfully terminated.
