The No. 22 Texas Longhorns (4-0) appear to be a rejuvenated program, fully shaped into the mold head coach Shaka Smart has been attempting to cast for the last few seasons: a smart, fast, and aggressive club that keeps the defensive intensity at the top of the meter. They will meet up with the Georgetown Hoyas on Thursday in the 2k Empire Classic tournament, at Madison Square Garden, in New York City.
The Longhorns, who already have a quality win over Purdue, are led by point guard Matt Coleman who leads the team in points and assists. They’ve gotten a significant boost with the return of Andre Jones, who sat out last season recovering from leukemia.

Georgetown (3-1) comes in with an altered look, featuring less of sophomore sensation Mac McClung (12.3 ppg) and a little more Turkish big man Omer Yurtseven. The senior and North Carolina State transfer has averaged 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game so far this season.
