With the San Francisco 49ers set to play the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday, Colin Kaepernick could have expected to be jeered. After all, the 49ers quarterback has spent the season kneeling when the national anthem is played, and he got into a telephone tussle this week with Cuban-born Miami Herald beat writer Armando Salguero because Kaepernick had worn a T-shirt featuring Fidel Castro on it earlier this year.
And then, Castro died on Friday, leading to mass celebrations on Twitter and in Miami streets.
Since Kaepernick has tied himself to the Cuban dictator, a reviled figure for many of the Cuban expats living in south Florida, this was the reaction Kaepernick received when he took the field vs. the Dolphins.

As for Salguero’s thoughts on the matter?
Chorus of boos for the San Francisco offense when it comes onto the field. I wonder why?
