Luca Guadagnino, director of 2017 film Call Me By Your Name, is looking forward to the sequel to his popular love story, but he’s struggling with the name. “The only problem is the title,” Guadagnino said in an interview with the New Yorker. “It cannot be ‘Call Me by Your Name Two.’ “

That was the only cue Twitter fans needed.

In no time people across Twitter were offering potential names for the sequel, from the absurd to the plausible. On Tuesday, @heydudemeg threw out the instantly recognizable “I know what you called me last summer,” and @GuyLodge helpfully offered “Recall me by your name.”

The slew of potential names grew to an impressive list within hours, with suggestions like @SimonedeSwardt’s “Call me by your surname” or @Muffin_Chips “Call Me Before 8 Because That’s When I Feed My Cats and Go to Bed.”

The film made internet-adored stars out of its two leads, Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer. Both became memes. Call Me By Your Name is a coming-of-age drama about love, sexuality, and youth that made the Oscar waves last year.

One user, @winduzam, even gave options for a full trilogy, starting with Call Me By Your Name, then “Call me by your Middle name” and finishing it off with “Call me by your Last name.”

There were a few dirtier suggestions, like @seanbgoneill’s “The Boys Bareback in Town,” but most were tame and in the spirit of the film.

The consensus seemed to be with the obvious, but fitting, “And I’ll Call You By Mine.”

Whatever title Guadagnino settles on, he’ll have no problem getting fans to turn out for part two.
