Last night, Hillary Clinton accepted the nomination for president. It was historic—glass ceilings were shattered and Trumps baited (and of course there was full-broil sexism). So what would women in 1776 think?
Broad City‘s Abbi and Ilana joined Stephen Colbert live “via satellite” from 1776 to discuss this momentous occasion and illuminate how ridiculous it is that it’s taken 240 years for a woman to become the nominee—and who exactly the Declaration of Independence was for. “All men are created equal” was supposed to mean “all people,” right?
“Well, we figured it out eventually,” Colbert responds.
Clinton appeared on Broad City this season. Hopefully next season will feature President Clinton.
