She may be five, but Blue Ivy Carter has bars.
The first child of Beyoncé and JAY-Z made her freestyle debut this week on a bonus track from the iTunes version of her dad’s new album 4:44. The new song “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” features the kindergarten-aged megastar letting loose over one of her dad’s beats.
It’s tough to tell what she’s saying most of the time (let’s be real: she’s a kid, a lot of it could be gibberish), but she definitely keeps the rhythm and sounds confident the whole time. At one point around the 0:12 mark you can hear her clearly say, “Never seen a ceiling in my whole life” with her dad’s signature offbeat cadence.
Dang. Bragged on by a baby.
