Donald Trump parodies and mashups are commonplace these days, but mashing the Republican presidential candidate with Futurama’s egotistical and incompetent captain might just be the most brilliant move yet—and fans have some help from Zapp Brannigan himself.
A couple days ago an Imgur user demonstrated the genius in placing Trump quotes on top of Brannigan, who has more than his fair share of eyebrow-raising comments on Futurama. The character is highly praised but despised by the people who serve under him, reveals himself to be a coward, incredibly sexist, and basically stumbles his way into victory with no regards for the safety of his crew. The juxtaposition struck a cord for Trump critics.
Word of the meme got to Billy West, who voiced Zapp Brannigan throughout Futurama’s run (along with a number of other characters including Philip J. Fry) as fans begged him to make DonZapp Trumpigan come to life. He eventually agreed after enough fans asked him.

A few days later he delivered, and it was more than worth the wait. West embodied Zapp Brannigan as he read Trump quotes—many of them from the original Imgur post. There’s only four to date, but each has its source listed on the video so you can check out the very real quote for yourself.
