The Bachelor ends this week in a two-part finale. And online, conspiracy theories consuming fans.

This season’s bachelor, Peter Weber, has picked his final two ladies, Hannah Ann Sluss and Madison Prewett, and fans are losing it over who will be given the coveted rose.

According to pundit and blogger Reality Steve, known for his reality show spoilers, the final rose will be given to Madison. He even hints Peter will propose on-air.

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison suggested on Good Morning America recently that things still aren’t done. “This season is unlike any other. You truly aren’t gonna know how it’s going to end until the very end,” he said. “It’s possible it’s still not over.”

Thus, conspiracy theories have been circulating since the beginning of the year. One, in particular, has many at the edge of their seats.

The theory goes that Peter does not pick either of the remaining two ladies, but actually ends up with his producer Julia LaPlaca. Although this seems far-fetched, ABC executive and head of reality TV programming Rob Mills ignited the hype around the theory this weekend.

In a comment made to Variety, he claims that Weber is “very close“ to LaPlaca and even his family is “fond” of her.

“He is very, very close to her. She’s the producer who is sort of his day-to-day producer, so she’s there with him, and she knows Peter very well and knows his family very well. They’re all very fond of her. That is all I will say,” Mills stated.

Fanning the flame, Reality Steve recently tweeted that he is now confused about the validity of his spoiler as he is receiving contradictory information from his sources.

“Just gonna put this out there. Since my post this morning, I’ve been on my phone nonstop. Plenty of things being said. The whole thing is a mess. Being told so many different things now. Original sources sticking by what they said. New sources saying that’s not it. It’s madness!” he tweeted last week.

Fans on Twitter suggest that the show’s execs are may be trying to throw Reality Steve for a loop.

“I’m thinking that they are going into damage control! What you posted this morning makes the most sense, so I’ll believe the original source or be surprised come the upcoming one,” suggested one fan.

Recent seasons have been crashed by Reality Steve spoilers and ABC hasn’t been able to undermine or discredit his reporting. Even if you want to avoid spoilers, they can be tough to miss online.

Whatever happens, for the first time in years fans are going into the finale with little idea what to expect—and that’s a major win for ABC.
