Arnold Schwarzenegger has recovered from open-heart surgery and he’s staying on brand.
While it was reported that the actor’s first words after waking up from emergency surgery on Friday were “I’m back,” Schwarzenegger followed that up with a tweet on Monday, letting his fans know he’s OK. He says he “went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one,” but at least he woke up.
It’s true: I’m back! I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one – but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for. Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages.

His spokesperson said last week that this is actually Schwarzenegger’s second open heart surgery, following a 1997 surgery to replace a pulmonic valve.
