Soon we’ll have a new powerful ginger to cheer on during Netflix binges.
Netflix on Wednesday finally released the first trailer for its Anne of Green Gables adaptation, Anne, and also dropped the official premiere date.
In 2016 Netflix revealed the series was coming and would feature eight episodes. We also know Breaking Bad’s Moira Walley-Beckett is the lead writer, and Miranda de Pencier (Beginners) and Niki Caro (Whale Rider) are on board. Basically, we’re in for a treat.
The original novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery features a strong-willed orphan girl (Anne) who goes to live with an elderly brother and sister. Eventually, Anne’s charm leaves a positive impact on the siblings, as well as the rest of the community.
The series premieres May 12.
