Reddit’s been around for more than a decade and has some of the best (and worst) parts of the internet together in one place. But as Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian explained it, it also has a way of creating communities and sharing incredible stories.
Jimmy Kimmel spoke with Ohanian, who gave Kimmel and his audience a primer on how Reddit works. It’s a way to bring people together—such as those who root for NFL bird teams—and a useful tool for life, he says. Ohanian, who’s expecting his first child with Serena Williams, saw the resilience of children through r/ChildrenFallingOver. They also showed what the front page of Reddit looked like, which included posts ranging from a dog who looked like William H. Macy to a very NSFW post title from r/tifu that somehow made it to broadcast.

But after all these years, Ohanian can easily name his favorite post. Like some of what shows up on Reddit, it captures the good of humanity and the power of paying it forward.
Ohanian does a good job of recalling the post to Kimmel, but it’s just as rewarding to read it on its own.
