You fans on the East Coast had a collective meltdown Wednesday night when they realized they had to wait another three hours to start binging season 2.

Unbeknownst to fans of the psychological thriller, the second season was set to air at midnight Pacific Time, not Eastern Time, on Dec. 26.

After waiting all year for season 2 to premiere, fans voiced their frustration with Netflix on Twitter.

“MIDNIGHT PACIFIC TIME REALLY” Twitter user @mandamanda__ wrote, complete with a gif of Joe smashing a phone from You season 1.

It seems that the time zone confusion had everyone feeling foolish.

“Everyone on the East Coast who stayed up until midnight for #YouNetflix only to realize we have to wait 3 more hours,” Twitter user @ace_albe wrote, along with a photo of a clown.

Other users similarly reacted with memes.

Twitter user @julian_hagins1 posted an ever-relatable video of a teary-eyed Kris Jenner and said, “Me after finding out You S2 comes out 12 AM Pacific Time instead of EST.”

But some viewers pointed out that Netflix originals typically air at midnight Pacific Time, so the release time shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

“When y’all gonna learn that Netflix always drops its shows at 12a pacific go to sleep,” Twitter user @saintgreeedy wrote.

You originally aired on Lifetime in September 2018 but was picked up by Netflix in December 2018. The show quickly gained a cult following, as viewers became obsessed with Penn Badgley’s eerily enduring portrayal of Joe Goldberg, a stalker, serial killer, and bookstore manager. Netflix said that You season 1 was streamed by 40 million accounts within the first month, and fans have been counting down the days to the season 2 premiere ever since.

It doesn’t seem that the frustration over the release time has stopped anyone from enjoying You season 2 as soon as possible. The official Twitter account for You promptly reminded everyone this morning that “if you started watching YOU S2 the minute it dropped and didn’t stop, you should be done by now.”

While most viewers haven’t finished binging yet, many have started the second season, and reactions are pouring in on Twitter. You can stream seasons 1 and 2 of You on Netflix now.
