Game of Thrones isn’t back until Spring 2019, but it appears that President Donald Trump wants to ruin the show for all its liberal fans, by using a show-themed meme to announce sanctions.

Well, huh.
One might think a vaguely threatening “sanctions” post, which could apply to a number of countries, wouldn’t be the most professional way to enact laws that could cripple a country’s economy and endanger the lives of its citizens. But that appears to be the strategy, as the White House’s official Twitter account was equally cryptic in its quote tweet of the president.
The United States has launched a campaign of economic pressure to deny the regime the funds it needs to advance its bloody agenda! https://t.co/0yuYgpvq5i

It was only in an earlier tweet where the administration named the country it was tweeting about.
President @realDonaldTrump is reimposing all sanctions lifted under the unacceptable Iran deal. The U.S. is reimposing the toughest sanctions ever on Iran, targeting many of the corrupt regime’s critical sectors.

It’s Iran. Maybe that’s something the president should have mentioned in his meme? Twitter sure seems to think so.
Lol against who/what https://t.co/FQs494IWLm

Yet another tweet I had to double check that it wasn’t from a parody account https://t.co/YtJryZOgpv

And while the president is free to light the internet on fire whenever he wants, the analogy he’s using to do it is a tad off. Is Trump siding with evil here?
In this analogy the president of the united states equates himself with an army of decomposed ice zombies https://t.co/TLur1iYVWw

As nonsensical and dumb as everything is these days, this somehow managed to reach a new level.
i’m starting to question whether we are a grown-up, adult country https://t.co/vsnJjev3d2

There were also a lot of Game of Thrones references made in response to the tweet. Did you know a petulant, impulsive person is a lot like that guy Joffery? Everyone was inclined to point that out.
He realizes he’s Joffrey right? https://t.co/LPrhEQtNqe

Joffrey grew up. https://t.co/hpL8fjze0j

Hopefully, Iran has been notified in a more formal manner.
