Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke got a pair of experiences on Saturday night that any Star Wars fan would clamor for. For starters, he got to attend the splashy world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Los Angeles. And to make the evening complete, he got to rub elbows―or, whatever passes for elbows―with the film’s adorable, spherical robot du jour, BB-8.
Yorke was captured sitting next to BB-8 in a pair of photos, and he looked quite serene while doing it. It’s not the first time a celebrity ended up face-to-face with the iconic new droid, as one of the film’s cast members, Laura Dern, memorably crossed paths with it earlier this week.

Yorke, 49, has been one of rock’s premiere singers and songwriters over the past couple of decades. By comparison, BB-8’s reign as an entertainment icon has been relatively short; the little droid debuted in the seventh iteration of the Star Wars franchise, The Force Awakens.
It remains to be seen what new adventures it’ll be up to in the new film―except, of course, for anyone like Yorke who got to see it prior to its widespread theatrical release. For everyone else, The Last Jedi will be hitting theaters Dec. 15.
