Finding the courage to say something when you see something is easier said than done. But Twitter is applauding one man who did just that, all the while stopping a fight that could have escalated out of control.
In a 4-minute video, two kids who look to be in their younger teens start fighting for the first 20 seconds while a group crowds in front of them, yelling and egging them on. That’s when a random man walks up behind one of the kids and gets in between the two.
“Everybody with your phones out, all y’all, you’re the real cowards—record that too. Everybody on the phones, record that. Everybody recording the phone, real cowards,” he tells the group as they immediately quiet down. “It ain’t cool, man, y’all in the middle of the street.”
The two teens fighting stand quietly and look to their friends as the man points to them, showing how several of them are laughing at their anger. When one of the kids say he doesn’t know why they’re fighting, and said the other kid provoked him over text, the man turns to the other and tells him someone gave him bad advice to fight.
“Look at the trick of the devil, who ill advised you?” he asks. “Y’all are men—start acting like it.”
Some of the kids watching seem to think the man is corny, and still laugh at his sincerity in trying to talk the two fighting teens down. But at the end of the video, the man gets the teens to shake hands and walk away.
“Straight up, yo, anybody who laughs at you, while you’re upset, they ain’t your friend,” he said. “Y’all got parents, yo. Don’t make your parents look like this… If you live around here, you live somewhere good. Don’t mess that up.”
Since getting posted on Monday, the video has received more than 60,000 retweets and 90,000 likes, even catching the attention of LeBron James.

What I love is how quickly he was able to get the violence ended. They didn’t really want it. He gave em the out

sad part is they probably don’t even know what they were fighting 4 in the 1st place & none of their “friends” put a stop to it.
