The residents recreated all types of album covers––from Adele to Elvis Presley. Robert Specker, the activities coordinator at Sydmar Lodge Care Home, said on Twitter that they’ve been recreating covers for fun during the home’s four-month lockdown.

“Elderly people will remain in lockdown for a long time, and I want to make their time as happy and full of enjoyment and interest as possible,” Specker said on a GoFundMe created to help finance other activities for the residents.

Specker said he started by making suggestions to the residents about which albums suit their personalities or looks. Then he helped them get the clothes, the makeup, and, at times, even fake tattoos to finish up the costume.

Specker then posted the photos on Facebook and Twitter, where they’ve garnered international attention. Even a family member of someone in the pictures commented saying that it was a “lovely surprise” to see her aunt having fun.

The residents have been on lockdown for 120 days amid the coronavirus. During that time, they haven’t been able to have guests. Specker said that he hopes to continue to do activities like this in order to raise their spirits.

“As this situation is on-going it could be months before the situation changes for them and the need to keep them happy, entertained, and full of spirit has never been more crucial,” he said.
