The Dr. Mario and Mario/Sonic mashup franchises are getting new entries with Dr. Mario Miracle Cure on 3DS, and an Olympic-themed Mario vs. Sonic on both 3DS and Wii U.

Nintendo has moved its marketing strategy away from physical events and embraced digital advertising with Nintendo Direct broadcasts. Last year at E3, Nintendo skipped holding a live press conference altogether and instead went with a extended Nintendo Direct spot. Considering the cost of and logistical work involved in hosting an event at E3, going digital made a lot of sense for a lot of reasons.
