Supernatural fans are no strangers to dystopian horror, but actor Misha Collins is taking the genre in a slightly less fantastical direction: the nightmare of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints.

Collins’ latest side-project is a series of short films called TSA America: Level Orange, which launched on Saturday with a live webcast from Collins and a handful of celebrity guests. The dark comedy series was co-written by Collins’ wife Vicki Vantoch and includes a cameo from Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles’ wife Danneel, which was more than enough to entice fans of the hit show.

Conspiracy theorists are already wondering if one of the shorts is a nod to Supernatural’s Destiel, since it involves Misha Collins’ TSA character giving a repressed Texan a homoerotic pat-down, and Jensen Ackles is from Texas. Coincidence, or an intentional Dean Winchester/Castiel surreal airport AU fanfic? With Misha Collins, it could honestly go either way. After all, he knows his audience. And that audience is big enough to crash a video-streaming site in their enthusiasm to watch Collins talk about an airport checkpoint sitcom on a Saturday afternoon.

There’s no word yet on whether the series will be available online, but there are two trailers on Collins’ YouTube account, and you can buy DVDs from the TSA America website.
