Here’s an odd Twitter feud you probably thought you’d never see: Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose.

The dubious duo got into a spat on Wednesday evening after Rose called out the treasury secretary, telling his followers that Mnuchin was “officially an asshole.”

“It’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole,” Rose tweeted on Wednesday.

Soon enough, Mnuchin responded to the public call-out from the Guns N’ Roses singer by asking him what he’s “done for the country lately?” An odd retort considering Mnuchin is a government official and Rose is an entertainment star.

However, there was a slight hitch with Mnuchin’s tweet. He used the flag from Libera instead of the United States, a mistake that the treasury secretary fixed with a replacement tweet—but not before there were numerous screenshots taken.

Mnuchin re-posted the tweet with the correct flag.

But Rose noticed the mistake and shot back.

“My bad I didn’t get we’re hoping 2 emulate Liberia’s economic model but on the real unlike this admin I’m not responsible for 70k+ deaths n’ unlike u I don’t hold a fed gov position of responsibility 2 the American people n’ go on TV tellin them 2 travel the US during a pandemic,” Rose tweeted in response.

Rose being upset with the Trump administration is not shocking, as he’s been vocal in the past.

But regardless of what sparked this back-and-forth, many people agreed that the Twitter fight between Mnuchin and Rose was not something anyone expected to see.
